Went to Asakusa as planned with my sensei and a friend from China. First, we met at Ikebukuro station's West exit then headed to Ueno station on the Yamanote Line. We transfered to Ginza Line and reached Asakusa station around 11.30am..
We first went to Azuma Bridge (吾妻橋) beside the Sumida River (隅田川),
Please note that the main focus of the picture is suppose to be Sky Tree but in case you guys are wondering about the weird looking structure on top of the black building, it is Asahi Beer Building. Not to sound distasteful or anything but the according to my friend, the structure looked like .... (hope you get what I mean, hehe)
My sensei brought us to a sushi restaurant since we was so hungry at that time and she asked us to just take any sushi we want from the conveyor belt and the total amount for the 3 of us turned out to be nearly 8000yen :O. Thanks a lot sensei.. ^^
Then, we walked to the symbol of Asakusa, the Kaminari Mon (雷門), literally Thunder Gate.
As we passed Kaminari Mon, there's a long street of souvenir shops until Sensoji (浅草),
We then reached gate of the temple,
and finally the main temple,
We washed our hands here,
Before going back, my sensei treat us with some kind of Japanese dessert, it was so sweet but I liked it.. Expecially the red bean paste..
And lots of thanks again to my sensei for the tour around Asakusa. She even bought me a kendama (けん玉) as a souvenir .Had a great day at Asakusa!
